The JST Invader is often considered the ‘better F-100 Hurricane’ as it’s a somewhat classic style design with the same sort of wings which are tipped in rotating engines. However, it has six engines besides the ones on the wing which makes it very fast. It also has a compact 2-person helicopter style cockpit.
The main guns of the Invader are 4 Cannon Mounts, two in each wing tip engine pod that use Scourge Railguns. These are not extreme rate of fire weapons, but designed as larger heavier hitting cannons with still good speed. It then has a pair of Missile Pylon Hardpoints designed for Lancer MRAM Pylons. While lightly armed in the way of missiles, the railguns are usually considered heavy enough to make up for that.
The JST Invader Aerospace Fighter is a high speed VTOL design suited to a variety of roles including Interception and close air support. At the time it was introduced, JST had no relationship with any of the major militaries and instead sold the design on the open market. It proved itself so capable that the major militaries looked at it and they even got some purchases. That said, they don’t really need big national buyers as their design is often considered the best thing since sliced bread for mercs. It is one of the most expensive of aerospace platforms however.
A ‘heavier’ version of the invader has been created ‘after market’. This version has a tail turret using a Hunter CIWS Railgun Turret and an under-body Heavy Pylon Mount designed for a Terminator ASM. This version is painful to engage for other fighters and it’s ASM gives it a nice kick against larger vessels.
